Through OTEPIC up to 3,000 people receive clean drinking water and the diseases caused by contaminated drinking water have been reduced by about 50%. Previously, people had taken their water from the polluted Sabwani river.
OTEPIC led to a reduction in poverty due to families spending less money on medication. Also, an increase in the local economic development was noticed as a result of the substantial improvement in health. Furthermore, peace and friendship developed through the act of sharing water between tribes.
